Copywriting for Chefs, Restauranteurs & Culinary Businesses
Sure, you’re a boss in the kitchen, but are you equally confident in your writing skills? Maybe you wrote all your own website copy hoping to polish it up later; or, you are refocusing your business in the current climate, trying new marketing tactics.
Do you have a compelling tagline that sets your business apart?
Are you making the most of every “page view” of your website?
Before my 20 years as a boutique caterer, private chef, and food writer, I headed a branding and marketing agency for 15 years. The language of food is as second nature to me as having a knife in my hand.
Branding & Marketing
Wondering how to revitalize your business in these difficult times? Let me review your brand positioning (have you defined one?), your offer, and website. Maybe you need to pivot (as I had to during the height of the pandemic, see the temporary homepage I created here).
I’m just a small business owner, why is brand positioning important for me?
The “Great Resignation” and widespread restaurant closings mean that many new entrepreneurs were born as we navigated the pandemic, which means the food business market is more competitive than ever. This is the perfect time to update your website or take a hard look at your brand positioning and how you stand out from your competitors.
Maybe you wrote all your own website copy hoping to polish it up later; or, you are refocusing your business in the current climate, trying new marketing tactics, to make sure your “offer” is stellar, that it stands out from the competition. Do you have a compelling tagline that sets your business apart? Are you making the most of every “page view” of your website?
Chef Joshua Garcia’s website* immediately lets you know what he’s all about, does yours?
Your brand is the way you stand out in a crowded marketplace. If you are like me, you track how many “hits” you get on your website, anxiously looking to see if that number is going up. And if it is, hooray! Surely, if you get enough page views, some of those people will convert and become customers. But, are you doing everything you can to maximize that moment when you connect with a potential customer, those precious few minutes when they are looking at your website? If you do not have a thoughtfully constructed brand, you are not.
Chef Tu David’s tagline* packs a punch, does yours?
Do you just want to add a tagline? Or re-write your bio? Even the voice you use when you write a recipe is a reflection of who you are as a chef: is the tone chatty and friendly or serious and authoritative? Does it leave the right impression?
What My Clients Are Saying
“I put off building a website for years because I didn’t want to write the text. I finally did and it was clear that I needed help. Enter Andrea- I now have a website I’m happy to send folks to. The copy she wrote improved upon what I had 100%, and she was really kind about it. I had a great experience working with Andrea and would do it again in a heartbeat!“

“Andrea has been very instrumental in my early career. She helped me formulate my story, directly contributing to my brand, to what is today.
